Coronavirus testing has been ramped-up in the Northern New South Wales Local Health District over the past week.
Testing has increased by twenty per cent, with more than 5,400 people in the region now tested.
It comes as health authorities plan to resume semi-urgent elective surgery.
The region’s total number of confirmed cases remains stable at 56.
