TOURISTS MAKE LUCKY ESCAPE AFTER VEERING OFF INTO CREEK NEAR URALBA

Two tourists have made a luckily escape today, after their car, which was towing a caravan, veered off the Bruxner Highway and tipped sideways into a creek near Uralba.

As water began filling the vehicle, the woman managed to clamber out, but the man became trapped inside.

Emergency services managed to pull him out… and also helped rescue a sheep, parrot and dog from inside the submerged caravan.

The driver, who authorities believe experienced a medical episode, was taken to Lismore Base Hospital for treatment to minor injuries, along with his passenger.
